Issue 2 is here!
Issue 2 is finally here. It’s been a long few months but I’m happy with the result and even happier to get started on issue 3. I was reading a lot of Lonergan and Stokoe while this was being made so you may see some poor homages to them here. More than that I was happy to get out of the darkness of space and onto a planet with different environments…I have some great stylistic choices and other parts of the universe to check in with next issue so hopefully you all like what you see.
I love indie comics. I love starting here. I love seeing where I can go and what characters I can take with me. I love growing, I feel more comfortable with every piece. I’m excited to graduate myself from nib tip pens and india ink.
Today is a win for indie comics. And the more work I make the more community I can build. Because that’s what it’s all about.
I also have a very late update about my submission for “The Revenge of Hallowzine!” and I am happy to report that the folks at Aquatic Panda Distributions have agreed to add my story, “El Babujal”, to the anthology. This makes me very happy as it will be my first non-self published piece. I don’t have a lot more info right now but the kickstarter is going strong and has about 5 days left to go— you can help us out at Revenge of Hallowzine Kickstarter!
Finally, a dear friend of mine very recently lost his loving wife as a result of complications from the birth of their daughter. It’s a pain that I can’t even begin to imagine. While many of us have experienced loss, rarely does it come hand in hand with an incredible miracle. My heart goes out to Daniel Newman, whos mere presence could comfort the deepest sorrow and to Lucy Newman, whos radiant energy could brighten the darkest day. May Daniel and Daisy feel Lucy’s love with every beat of their hearts. Daniel and Daisy Fund.
Thanks friends. Always read comics.
